Children's Kwanzaa celebration: As part of their global festive educational series "Meet The Holidays," The Children's Museum of Atlanta will feature a program celebrating Kwanzaa, which honors African-American heritage and culture. Observed from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1 each year, Kwanzaa features daily candle lighting and culminates with a feast and give-giving. In addition to the educational component, kids will listen to Kevin's Kwanzaa story by Lisa Bullard then make their own Kwanzaa candle. This event will be presented three times throughout the weekend, with the first one beginning at noon Saturday, Dec. 27. The cost of admission is $12.75 (plus tax).
