Cloned pups created from DNA extracted weeks after dog’s death

British couple Laura Jacques and Richard Remde paid nearly $100,000 for two puppies to be cloned using DNA from their boxer Dylan.

Among other amazing parts to this story, DNA was recovered from Dylan’s body  and sent to the Sooam Biotech Research Foundation in South Korea two weeks after he died. Previously, the record for recovering cloning material after death was five days.

The first pup, Chance, was born Dec. 26. His brother Shadow was scheduled to be born Dec. 28.
