Pixie, a 3.5-month-old spayed shepherd mix, is a sweet, somewhat shy puppy who loves to play once she gets to know you. Like all puppies, Pixie will flourish with structure and leadership in her new home; she is very trainable with positive-but-firm methods. The Atlanta Humane Society recommends crate training for all new adoptees to help with housetraining and general adaptation to a new environment; most pups learn to love their crates when they are used properly, and they certainly help the humans to be less frustrated. Pixie will do best in a home with an active family, but she would probably be happiest in a calmer environment. She will also benefit from a fenced-in yard but will still love daily walks! We don’t know how she will do with children or other pets, so please bring the family (including all children and other dogs) to visit Pixie. Pixie is up-to-date on her vaccinations (though she will need more shots in the upcoming weeks) and has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road NW. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 11 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications. Look at all our available pets at www.atlantahumane.org.
