Pantone’s color of the year for 2018 announced

Patone's color the year for 2018 is Ultra Violet.

"Inspired by Ultra Violet, these blue-based purples are as elegant as they are modern and bold," Pantone said it announcing the color.

Pantone Vice President Laurie Pressman told The Associated Press ahead of the announcement the color was chosen to evoke a counterculture flair and visionary thinking,

“We are living in complex times,” she said. “We’re seeing the fear of going forward and how people are reacting to that fear.”
