Staples employees will be able to share the Thanksgiving holiday with family this year.
The company said it is taking a stand against the growing commercialism and will be closed on Thanksgiving, USA Today reported.
Staples will offer online-only deals, and the stores will reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.
More stores have been pushing back the start of the holiday shopping season each year.
Last year, Target, Sears and Kohl's were among retailers that opened as early as 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving day, USA Today reported.
Kmart had deals starting at 6 a.m.
