It's one of the busiest times of the year – especially for those out delivering packages, but how often do we stop and thank those for all they do to make the gifts under the tree happen?
Channel 2 Action News reported in early December that UPS has seen a 10 percent spike in online shopping.
The company reshuffled its staff to its busiest shopping centers and added rental trucks to its fleet for the holiday shopping season.
The holiday season is not over – and quite possibly the busiest yet as Christmas is just days away.
Jeremy Dixon has been with UPS for almost 20 years and tells Channel 2 Action News he saw something on his daily route on Monday that made this chaotic time well worth his while.
Dixon was out making deliveries on Monday when he came across a sign in Alpharetta.
The sign read, "Free drinks and snacks for all delivery drivers! UPS, USPS, and FedEx and Amazon – We appreciate you. Thank you for getting Christmas to us on time!"
Dixon tells Channel 2 Action News he was beyond thankful, and so grateful that someone went out of their way to show just how much they appreciated how hard UPS works to get packages to customers on time.
"I've been with UPS for 17 years and I've never seen anything like this," Dixon said. "I mean, when I go to their door they might offer me a drink or something but nothing like this with a sign."
Dixon says he isn't sure who lives at the residence, they weren't home when he delivered their package, but he left a note for them explaining just how much he appreciated that and wished them a Merry Christmas.
"It sure did make my day seeing that," Dixon said.
