It started harmlessly enough.

"Wouldn't it be funny if we did a human Elf On A Shelf?" Joe Wynberg said to Buzzfeed. "It kind of took off from there."

The first image of Wynberg in elf apparel sitting atop the family fridge was posted Nov. 30. Since then, he has hung from the roof, under the Christmas tree and, most recently, been duct-taped to a wall.

Wynberg and his wife, Megan, started share the images of FLE (prounounced "flee") on Facebook nightly to one up their friends, who were posting photos of elves in bemusing places, according to Yahoo.

"I don't think we were planning to all 24 days at first, but now we're kind of forced to," Joe Wynberg said to Buzzfeed.

I brought in re-enforcement to get FLE the "Elf on the Shelf" under control.

So we got our tree up and decorated with the kids today. And then FLE tried to get in the tree like his other "Elf on the Shelf" buddies.

I think FLE is pretty upset about last night and is seeking revenge against those responsible for duck taping him to the wall.
