A Rhode Island man is going to any length to get his wife a life-saving transplant.
According to WJAR, Jim Small is using his truck as a rolling billboard to try to find someone that could be a match to his wife April.
April was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease more than 20 years ago. In PKD, cysts grow on kidneys, strangling them, not allowing them to filter waste.
Jim posted on the back of his pickup, Type O Blood. Wife needs kidney. Please donate. 401-258-6621."
Jim is not the only member of the family with the advertisement His daughter also has posted a similar plea on her car.
April is on a transplant list, but if she can find her own donor, she can potentially move forward quicker, WJAR reported.
If you would like to be tested to see if you are a match for April, you can call or text Jim at 401-258-6621 or contact Rhode Island Hospital's Transplant Center.
