Alcohol is the most commonly used addictive substance in the United States, and an estimated one in every 12 adults in this country suffers from alcohol abuse or dependence, according to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.

Services Offered: Talbott Recovery provides treatment for addictive diseases, including alcohol and drug addiction, as well as psychiatric disorders (such as depression) that may accompany the primary disease. It offers treatment for young adults as well as older people and provides nearby off-campus apartment living for patients.
Awards/Accreditation: The treatment center earned the James W. West, M.D. Quality Improvement Award from the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP). Only two or three providers receive this national honor each year.
Lakeview Behavioral Health

Services offered: Lakeview Behavioral Health provides services starting with alcohol detoxification if necessary and identifying any additional disorders patients may have. Patients are stabilized and given medication if needed for help in detoxification. An inpatient addiction treatment program is offered, using the 12-step model for addiction. Lakeview uses individual, family and group therapy, as well as additional opportunities such as nutritional and wellness therapy and art therapy. Toward the end of a patient's stay, an after-care plan is developed, offering such choices as a resident, partial hospitalization or an intensive outpatient program.
Awards/Accreditation: Lakeview has earned the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval, which involves periodic evaluation by experts to provide an impartial measure of the level of treatment, services and care provided. It is also affiliated with the Georgia Hospital Association, National Alliance on Mental Illness and The Jason Foundation, an organization dedicated to the prevention of youth suicide.
MARR Addiction Treatment Center

Services offered: MARR is a private, non-profit organization that has provided treatment for alcohol and drug treatment since 1975. People who are receiving treatment live in a gender-specific home-like residence, which helps to foster a sense of community.
Awards/Accreditation: MARR has earned the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval and is recognized as one of the most cost-effective rehabilitation facilities in the country.
