Gospel great Shirley Caesar is going Hollywood.

Caesar, who is marking her 60th year in the music business (50th as a solo artist), will be recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California on June 28.

As a matter of fact, it’s 2,583rd star on the famous walkway.

Guest speakers include friends and fellow gospel performers Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklin.

The year is shaping up nicely for the 77-year-old Caesar.

She has released a new 11-track CD, “Fill This House”, which includes the hit single “It’s Alright, It’s OK” featuring Anthony Hamilton. The album debuted at the top spot on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums Chart.

It also includes a tribute, “Mother Emanuel”, in memory of the nine worshippers who were gunned down during Bible study at Emanuel AME Church last year. She will perform in a special tribute event Saturday on June 18 in Charleston. The day before, a special version of the “Mother Emanuel” track will be released online.

When she’s not on the road, Caesar is in the pulpit. She is pastor of Mt. Calvary Word of Faith Church in Raleigh, N.C.
