A firefighter's surprise wedding proposal has gone viral. Marshall Griffin, a volunteer firefighter at the Snoqualmie Fire Department, teamed up with his co-workers to ask his girlfriend for her hand in marriage.

In less than 24 hours, a heartwarming video of the proposal garnered more than 16,000 views on Facebook.

Griffin told his girlfriend, Lia, that the city was filming a training video for the Snoqualmie Fire Department. He invited her to come watch.

In reality, the entire thing was an elaborate marriage proposal.

The truth was revealed after a firefighter unfurled a giant banner that said "Lia, will you marry me?"

She said yes.
