Kenny Rogers, the genial country singer as beloved for being “The Gambler” as he was a movie star and restaurant entrepreneur, died late Friday night at the age of 81.

Country music star, Kenny Rogers, died Friday night at his metro Atlanta home, a spokesperson confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The spokesperson said the Grammy-award-winning artist died of natural causes at his Sandy Springs home.

In a tweet, the Rogers family said “The Gambler” was under hospice care and surrounded by family.

On Saturday, fellow stars, fans and Atlantans paid tribute to Rogers.
