Proceeds from the event will support The Children's Heart Foundation, whose mission is "to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects."

In addition to benefiting the organization, guests will have the chance to win prizes.

This is not the first event Slow Pour Brewery has hosted benefiting charity. In 2018, for example, the company raised money to benefit CURE Childhood Cancer.

Slow Pour Brewing Company was founded in 2017 after Marty Mazzawi and John Reynolds renovated the century-old one-time trouser factory. It is Gwinnett county’s first craft brewery.

“The plans became real when they closed on an old garment factory just off the square in downtown Lawrenceville, Ga,” reads the brewery’s about page. “John jumped in full-time learning all he could about commercial brewing, and Marty turned his attention to buildout and prep. They quickly began forming an invaluable team of partners, consultants and talented industry-savvy staff to help create, not only the first brewery in Gwinnett County, but one of the best around.”

Among the beers available are year-round offerings like an IPA called Nostalgia and a blonde ale called Cotillion. There are also limited releases including the sour beer Digi-Log and the hard seltzer, Lawless.

"I want to do very approachable beers, especially for the Lawrenceville market," Reynolds told the AJC in 2016. "The craft beer revolution is still taking foot."
