What road race keeps you on your toes? This week's Best of Atlanta poll is all about your favorite run in town.
All paths clearly lead to the AJC Peachtree Road Race, which was our winner by a mile. Held annually on July 4, this race attracts 60,000 runners and walkers of all abilities each year. Go the distance from Buckhead to Midtown by crossing the epic finish line right beside Piedmont Park. If you're looking for the perfect race to set your sights on, this is the one.
The Hunger Walk/Run is also an annual tradition that many race runners hold dear. Coming in a strong second place, this run is the perfect event to take on with friends and family. Step up and stop hunger just by participating, as the Hunger Walk/Run has raised over 7 million dollars in 32 years for the Atlanta Food Bank.
The Duluth Donut Dash 5K and Historic Oakland Cemetery's Run Like Hell 5K come in neck-in-neck for third place. Both offer a unique experience with plenty of dedicated enthusiasts each year. The real question is, do you prefer donuts or gorgeous historic views at the finish line?
We've only just begun to share the bounty of races that Atlanta has year-round. Our runner-ups are also workth checking out: Color Vibe 5K (DeKalb), Run The River 5K, 10K, Fun Run (North Fulton), Spooktacular Chase (Cobb) and Race for the Cure (Buckhead).
