Author Malidoma Patrice Some in Atlanta at Shrine bookstore

Malidoma Patrice Some, an author, West African educator and spiritualist, will speak at 7 p.m. Friday at the Shrine of the Black Madonna Cultural Center and Bookstore.

Some is known for his work around African spirituality, community building and youth.

At the Shrine, he will talk about “Honoring the Sanctity of Life.” The event will be held at 946 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. S.W.

Some is the author of several books: “The Healing Wisdom of Africa,” “Ritual: Power, Healing, and Community,” and “Of Water and Spirit.”

The event takes place at 7 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Shrine of the Black Madonna Cultural Center and Bookstore. Tickets are $10. 946 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. S.W. 404-549-8676
