Fifty kids in Atlanta were surprised with new beds thanks to the Atlanta Hawks and partners.

The Atlanta Hawks partnered with Bank of America and the Dream Differently Project (Zac Brown’s Camp Southern Ground, Beautyrest and Beds 4 Kids) to donate beds for 50 kids in Atlanta.

The groups initially collaborated to host a sleepover at Philips Arena on Friday, Dec. 8, but the event was canceled due to inclement weather which included snow. All 50 Hawks-themed beds were delivered during recent days.

On Sunday, Hawks players Luke Babbitt, Tyler Dorsey, Ersan Ilyasova and Isaiah Taylor joined Hawks employees and volunteers from Bank of America to deliver beds to children which included several who attend Boyd Elementary School, where all of the children are free or reduced lunch.

“We strive to use basketball to connect to and impact communities. Through our bed delivery, we are proud to provide a basic need for children who may not otherwise get access to a brand-new bed, helping them get adequate rest in preparation for all of their successful days ahead,” said Andrea Carter, Senior Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, Atlanta Hawks, in a press release.
