Tony Sundermeier to lead First Presbyterian Church: The Rev. Tony Sundermeier has been named senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.
Sundermeier is the church’s first new pastor in more than 25 years. He officially begins his tenure at First Presbyterian on Aug. 18 and will preach his inaugural sermon at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 24 at 1328 Peachtree St. Sundermeier has served as senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, Pa., since 2009. Prior to that, he served in the same role at Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester, Pa.
He holds a degree in theology and philosophy from Eastern University; a master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary; and a doctorate of ministry from Biblical Theological Seminary.
More than 180 candidates were considered during the yearlong national search, according to a press release.

Rodrigo Rodriguez in concert in Newnan: Classical guitarist Rodrigo Rodriguez will perform at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at First Baptist Church Newnan, 15 W. Washington St. The concert is free.
