More than 10,000 are expected to attend the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Gwinnett this weekend at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds.
The Gwinnett event is the largest Relay for Life event in the .world
The Relay for Life kicks off at 4 p.m. Friday and runs through 6 a.m. Saturday at 2405 Sugarloaf Pkwy. in Lawrenceville

Since its founding, the event has raised more than $39 million to fight cancer. The program includes a survivor lap and purple glove dance.

The Luminaria Ceremony will begin at 9:30 p.m. Those attending can share their cancer survivorstories as well as remember loved ones lost to the disease.

Nearly 57,000 Georgians will face a cancer diagnosis this year. Money raised at Relay For Life events support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to eliminate cancer as a major health problem and fund research, education, advocacy and service.
