Televangelist Juanita Bynum and Bishop Thomas Weeks III have gone through many troubles since last year.

Just one example of the media attention that Juanita Bynum has received during her marriage troubles.

Before the final decree, the divorce proceeding was interrupted after Bynum revealed that the couple had sex last August after they had separated.

It was not revealed if conjugal connection happened after Weeks assaulted Bynum in a hotel parking lot last summer. Judge Debra Turner left the courtroom to research whether the divorce could be granted under Georgia law, which, in part, sees sex by separated couples as a act of reconciliation. "My understanding is you can no longer have marital relations based on the date of separation that you file," Turner said.

After the sex issue was resolved, Bynum agreed to pay $40,000 of Weeks' attorney fees. They will keep individual assets they had before the marriage. Bynum wants to retrieve some personal items in Weeks possession, including a harp and sculpture.

Weeks a gets a 2004 Land Rover. And he pays any credit card debt in his name. No alimony was granted.

"It has been a long-awaited moment," said Bynum after the court hearing. "I had already made my [peace] with it."

During MegaFest 2006 Bynum's followers, such as Tramika Vennie of Eastern Shore, VA., and Charles Mathis of Miami were moved.

Weeks drew readers through his books, publishing spiritual testimonials such as "Even your soul prospers."

Weeks wrote "Teach me how to love you: Communication and intimacy in relationships." Bynum wrote the foreword.

Bynum made an album called "A piece of my passion."

In August 2007, the couple's marriage crumbled after allegations that Weeks choked, kicked and struck Bynum in the parking lot of the Renaissance Concourse Hotel. He was charged with two felonies --- aggravated assault for his attack and making terrorist threats for threatening to kill Bynum, police said.

This Weeks quote appears at the entrance of the executive offices at the Global Destiny International Center in Duluth. After the couple's troubles, he said he had lost 3,400 members, with some 1,600 leaving his Duluth church alone. He says the departures started in June and increased in August.

Weeks was booked but released on bond.

Weeks, seen here during his August 2007 court appearance, said he was facing a war on three fronts -- over the future of his Duluth church, which was losing members and money; over avoiding jail time for felony charges; and over peace at home.

He listened mostly during the hearing.

"I did not choke my wife, I did not beat my wife, I did not kick nor stomp her," Weeks said at the hearing. "A woman said to be kicked, punched, choked and brutally beaten by her husband, does she show up at the hospital four hours later ... and refuse to let the police take official pictures of all of the bruises?"
