Here's one applicable piece of dating advice: just add water.
In the Atlanta area, water attractions set the scene for great adventures mixed with a little romance.
Here are seven outings to consider for a wet and wild date:
Try river tubing for 10 bucks
$10 for dual-chamber tube, life vest and shuttle service
4349 Abbotts Bridge Road, Duluth. 678-349-6880
Tube alongside your dreamboat without stressing your wallet. These folks provide "lazy river" tubing excursions on the Chattahoochee River. If you are a "must love dogs" kind of date, note that pooches are allowed to come, too.

Hang out houseboat style.
2-night rentals Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday, $1,499 in season, $1,199 off-season
Port Royale Rentals, 8800 Port Royale Drive, Gainesville. 770-887-5715
Impress one very special date or invite some other couples to revel on Lake Lanier. Each 53-foot by 14-foot rental has a full-kitchen, four private bedrooms, upper deck with a water slide and a heated spa.
Pick out paddleboards together
6:30 p.m. select Thursdays spring-September, $30/person
High Country Outfitters SUP (stand up paddleboard) Demo, Morgan Falls Overlook Park 200 Morgan Falls Road Sandy Springs
It's designed to help people select paddleboards to buy, but the popular stand up paddleboard (SUP) demos make a great date, too. You'll spend the evening with certified guides, learning how to stand on water and carry and handle a SUP. What's really fun is experimenting with all the different types of paddleboards. This could lay the groundwork for a shared interest, too.
Sun and swim at Fort Yargo beach
$5 parking
210 S. Broad St., Winder. 770-867-3489
Get a little sand between your toes at this state park between Atlanta and Athens. If you share a love for the history channel, you'll appreciate the on-site 1792 log fort built by settlers for protection against Creek and Cherokee American Indians. If you're not a history buff, just swim, paddle, kayak or canoe your way down the 260-acre lake.
Make a splash indoors, any time of year
50-up $3.25 Gwinnett resident, $6.25 others; ages 4–49 $4.25 Gwinnett resident, $8.25 others
Bethesda Park Aquatic Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville. 678-924-6334
Can your date be carefree? Find out on the giant waterslide that exits and re-enters the building. There's also a floatable river channel and water vortex, indoor leisure pool with a separate spot for little kids and ceiling spray. The hours are also appealing: you can swing by from 3 -7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays or 3 -8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for a different kind of happy hour.
It's open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and Sunday, which leaves time for a dry-land dinner afterwards if you like.
