Give a wet one - It's International Kissing Day

Pull out the chapstick and keep the gargle handy, friends.

Yes, that's something you should do every day, but since folks are celebrating International Kissing Day, the odds of using more gargle and lip moisturizer are pretty high today.

The awareness day, which started in the United Kingdom but has now caught on across the globe, inspires the appreciation of the lip embrace among lovers, family, friends and even pets. Some say the unofficial holiday is on July 6, others are celebrating today.

Awkward kisses have had their time of recognition, so—at least for the day — let's raise a glass to the cute, kissable (and not awkward) moments captured by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's photo staff.
