School is out; did summer sneak up on you? If you're suffering from summer camp procrastination, put your fears to rest. Below are nine Atlanta metro summer camps that still have openings for your kiddos. No more dillydallying; these camps will fill up quickly.
Adrenaline Climbing. Suwanee. Classes are filling up fast at Adrenaline Climbing's KidZoneSummer Camp, where Gwinnett locals vote the camp a "Best" and "Favorite." Kids 7 – 13 years old enjoy outdoor-centric adventures like climbing Sawnee Mountain, tubing or hiking Tallulah Gorge. $250 includes camp fees and all excursions.
Main Event. Alpharetta. SummerFUNcamps with Main Event include bowling lessons, video game play, laser tag, lunch and a camp T-shirt. Half-day sessions entertain kids 8-15 years old. Camp in June and July can be purchased as a single day of fun for $25, or save by sending the kids all week for $99.
Club Scientific Atlanta. Various. Multiple programs through Club Scientific encourage kids 4 – 15 years old to explore science and technology in a fun and entertaining manner. Camps locations dot the city and suburbs and offer new tracks this year such as Adventures in Cartooning, Chemistry Concoctions and Rocket Scientist. Camps start at $245 per week.
MODA. Various. Museum of Design Atlanta sparks interest in science, math and engineering at campMODA. Lego Robotics Camp teaches kids 6-12 years old to design and build a robot. Gadgets and Devices Camp introduces 8-12 year-olds to remarkable machines and littleBits and Bugs Circuitry Camp exposes them to electric circuits and 3D printing. Classes are filling up fast and spots are limited. Fees start at $495 per week.
Alliance Theatre. Midtown. Alliance Theatre's Drama Camp offers multiple options for kids 3 years old – 12th grade. Three and four year-old children enjoy Creative Play Camp exploring tools of acting like body, voice and imagination. Older kids can try their hand at Musical Theatre Camp, Performing Arts Camp or Camera Camp. Half-day sessions for kids age 3 start at $250 and scale accordingly.
Purple Hippo Art Studio. Dunwoody. Select from Art Camp or Art Camp plus Sprouting Scientists at PurpleHippo. All ages are welcome to the half-day sessions. Topics include fairy tales, space, pirates, camping and more. Prices start at $250 per week.
Atlanta Hawks Basketball Camp. Various. Boys and girls ages 7-15 can take part in Atlanta Hawks Basketball Camp at multiple locations around Atlanta. They get an official Hawks camp jersey and professional instruction from coaches who know the game. Don't worry about your kid's skill level; there is something for everyone. Kids will particularly enjoy special appearances from an Atlanta Hawks player, coach, alumni or mascot.
Imagine It! Children's Museum of Atlanta. Downtown. Openings remain at Adventure Camp, where kids 4-9 years old explore the learning zone of Imagine It! in depth. They'll decorate T-shirts, create amazing crafts, learn yoga and more. Outdoor play at Centennial Olympic Park will also make them happy. Two sessions are available from $215.
Shakespeare Tavern. Various. Hark! What fun yonder summer camps doth hold! Shakespeare Superheroes introduces kids to the language, stories, characters and ideas in Shakespeare's plays – in a way that is fun and "cool." Openings for older kids are still available in Cobb, and the new Juniors Camp for kids ages 4-6 has openings in Decatur. Fees are $495 for a two week session.
