Kilometer Kids — Atlanta Track Club's free fun run series for kids ages 14 and under — returns for its spring season with a March 29 run in Grant Park, the first of three.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m., with a 1-mile run for kids 7-14 and a 50-meter dash for kids 6 and under. Click here to register.

The second and third events will be held in April, in Lawrenceville and at Kennesaw State University:

• April 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Tribble Mill Park, Lawrenceville

• April 27 5:30 p.m. at Kennesaw State University

The track club started Kilometer Kids in 2007 to promote health and fitness among kids aged 7 and 14 in the Atlanta area. It serves more than 7,500 children annually and is supported by the track club, private donations and partnerships with the Atlanta Braves Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Chick-fil-A and more.

The season ends May 14 in Piedmont Park, with the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia Peachtree Junior, which requires a separate registration and fee.
