Taco lovers, rejoice! Several restaurants, food trucks and caterers are participating in a festival intended for taco lovers.

Atlanta Taco Festival is a one-day festival that will take place in Candler Park on May 1.

Tin Lizzy’s, On the Border, Willy’s Mexicana Grill and King of Pops are just a few of the restaurants that will participate in the event.

The festival and participating businesses are “dedicated to the ever-customizable taco and will allow Atlantans to taste unique menu items from Latin and non-Latin restaurants alike,” according to a press release.

Attendees will purchase a desired number of “points.” The points will be pre-loaded onto their wristbands and allow them to purchase food and beverages. Tacos will be sold at two to three points each. Ticket options include 12 taco points and five beer points for $37 (additional fees are not included).

The event will also include a "VIP tequila experience" and live entertainment from DJ Mike and Bird City Revolutionaries. Attendees can also watch a wrestling match between Lucha Libre USA masked warriors and participate in salsa classes.

A portion of proceeds from the festival will go to the non-profit organization CHRIS Kids, which seeks to provide families with trauma-informed behavioral health services and support.
