Here's a strong but silent option for anyone going "solo but not cynical" for Valentine's. Spend the day touring this active monastery about 35 miles from Atlanta in Conyers. The place welcomes visitors and you can spend the day on nature walks, peaceful reflection or gawking at the splendor of the stained glass and vaulted ceilings at the monastery's Abbey Church. If your dog is your companion this Valentine's, the monastery welcomes pets on leashes outside.
And if you decide to bring home a Valentine's souvenir for a sweetheart (or a budding romantic interest), the on-site store sells heavenly baked goods and fudge made at the monastery.

Talk about memorable. A tattoo you can see (or no one can see) will serve as a constant reminder of Feb. 14, 2017.
