An air of mystery always surrounded Prince, meaning the musical superstar didn’t do a lot of in-depth interviews.

But he did sit down for a televised one with — who else? — Oprah Winfrey back in 1996.

That was soon after he’d changed his name to the unpronouncable symbol that led much of the world to start referrring to him as “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.”

And it only added to the questions surrounding him, something Oprah addressed head-on in the interview which aired on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” her enormously popular daily talk show. The Oprah Winfrey Network will rebroadcast what’s termed an “intimate conversation” at 8 p.m. Saturday.

"People think you're weird. They think you're strange. What do you want them to know?" Winfrey asked.

Prince’s response: “The music.”

The interview also included a guided tour by Prince of Paisley Park, the Minnesota complex where he lived, worked, and died on Thursday.
