Jimmy Fallon welcomed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on "The Tonight Show" Thursday night, and of all the questions he asked, one stood out.

"Donald, I want to ask you, because the next time I see you, you could be the president of the United States," Fallon started. "Can I mess your hair up?"

Trump seemed unsure, but quickly gave as the crowd broke into applause.

"(The) answer is yes. The people in New Hampshire, where I'm going to be in about an hour — I hope they're going to understand," Trump said. "Go ahead."

And then the tussling commenced.

Trump appeared on "The Today Show" on the same day that an episode he taped of "The Dr. Oz Show" aired.
