Jennifer Myers, a meteorologist in Dallas, Texas, explained the discovery when she posted a collage of more than 40 women wearing the same outfit in different colors.

"I bought today's dress on Amazon for $23! Someone posted a link to it on our broadcast meteorologist group Facebook page and it got REALLY popular," she wrote on Facebook, along with the collage.

"More (than) 50 of us purchased the dress, so if you travel and watch the news, you might see something familiar," she added.

The post was subsequently picked up by BuzzFeed.

"There's a private Facebook group page of female broadcast meteorologists, and we all decided to buy the same $23 dress on Amazon," April Warnecke, a meteorologist in Phoenix, Arizona posted to Facebook. "We've all worn it in different cities across the country, this week, including me."

Lyndsay Tapses, a meteorologist in Charlotte, North Carolina, said the dress is appealing because it has “all of those qualities (female meteorologists on television) look for," including style, comfort, polish and sleeves. "But the price was the major selling point," she said.
