A couple of Marvel superheroes honored real heroes on the red carpet Monday for Atlanta-filmed “The Last Full Measure.”

Sebastian Stan — Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in “Captain America” and the Avengers movies — stars as Pentagon staffer Scott Huffman in the true story of Vietnam War hero William H. Pitsenbarger.

During a rescue mission, Pitsenbarger, who was an Air Force Pararescueman, turned down the chance to escape on the last helicopter out so he could defend his fellow soldiers.

Huffman investigates a Medal of Honor request for the airman and uncovers a conspiracy. As part of his investigation, he interviews men who served with Pitsenbarger, including Takoda, played by Samuel L. Jackson — Nick Fury in practically every movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The red carpet premiere, presented by Roadside Attractions at SCADshow, had the stars rubbing elbows with real heroes. Men and women in the militay posed for photos and attended the event just as the stars did.
