One waitress has gained some big-name fans after footage of her powerhouse vocals hit the internet.
Earlier this week, Erika Kayne, of Cleveland, Ohio, was ringing up customers at her job, KeVante’s Restaurant & Lounge. While printing receipts and collecting payments, she began belting out “Need U Bad” by Jazmine Sullivan on a microphone.
Comedian Justin Whitehead caught the moment on camera and posted the clip to Instagram, which Kayne reposted. It quickly went viral with people praising the waitress for her multitasking skills and strong pipes.
Tons of celebrities, including Snoop Dogg, SZA, D.L. Hughley, Tiny, Jemele Hill, Kandi Burruss and Monica, all applauded her.
Burruss commented, “Your voice is incredible,” and Monica wrote, “Looooove your voice.”
Hill posted the recording on her Twitter with the caption, “Visual proof that black women are amazing.”
Kayne’s Instagram repost has been viewed more than 270,000 times and liked over 76,000 times in just two days.
Since going viral, Kayne has made radio and television appearances, including one on Good Morning America’s “Strahan and Sara.”
