Bandmates Zack de la Rocha, left, and Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine are scheduled to reunite with other group members in 2020.

A vague message on a Rage Against the Machine Instagram account gave rock fans hope Friday morning. By Friday afternoon, one of the band’s associates confirmed the iconic group would reunite and perform in 2020.

Via the Instagram page, the rap rock band announced a series of dates in Texas, Arizona and two dates in Indio, California, the location of Coachella in April 2020.

Wayne Kamemoto, a longtime associate of the band, confirmed with Forbes magazine the band plans to reunite next year, stating "the band's social media is accurate."

Here are the scheduled dates for the band’s return so far:

March 26, 2020, El Paso, Texas

March 28, 2020, Las Cruces, New Mexico

March 30, 2020, Phoenix

April 10, 2020, Indio, California

April 17, 2020, Indio

The legendary band formed in 1991 but has not performed together since 2011, according to Forbes. In 2016, some members of the band, guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk and bassist Tim Commerford, teamed with Public Enemy's Chuck D and Cypress Hill's B-Real to form Prophets Of Rage.

The Los Angeles-based crew includes Morello, Wilk, Commerford and vocalist Zack de la Rocha.

Fans expressed their elation for the reunion Friday on Twitter.

Some expressed hope that RATM would bring the tour to the East Coast next year.
