It’s not officially summer yet, but there is no harm in celebrating early.

There are several events that are taking place throughout June that will allow you to explore Atlanta and enjoy the beautiful weather it has to offer for free.

And, let’s be honest, everything is better when it’s free.

Here are seven fun June events that won’t break the bank:

Attend an outdoor movie series

Going to the movies as a family can be expensive, but there is one way to get in on the fun for free. More than 20 outdoor movies will take place throughout metro Atlanta this summer, so there are plenty of opportunities for families to watch films such as “Zootopia” and “Captain America: Civil War” locally. All you’ll need is a few blankets and snacks to have a good time!

Summerfest 2016

Looking for a summer festival to attend this month? Summerfest by the Virginian-Highland Civic Association is a great way to celebrate the first weekend in June.

The two-day free festival will feature an artist market, showcasing original pieces from more than 250 artists from throughout the southeast. Stroll along Virginia Avenue while taking in the diverse forms of art that will be available for sale at various price points. Then, head to the main or acoustic music stage to hear live music from bands such as Americana duo City Mouse.
