Former HLN personality Nancy Grace will return to her hometown to deliver a speech for her alma mater’s Founders’ Day.
Mercer’s Founder’s Day will take place on Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. in the Willingham Auditorium on the Macon campus.
Grace, a Macon native, joins the list of Mercer graduates who have returned to the university to deliver the Founders’ Day address.
In addition to hosting her own show on HLN for 12 years, Grace released her fourth book, a novel titled “Murder in the Courthouse,” in 2016. She is also the executive producer of a series of films based on her novels for Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.
"(Grace) has a unique outlook on Mercer because she experienced the university in the classroom as an undergrad as well as at the Walter F. George School of Law, grew up near our beloved university and has become one of our leaders as a member of the Board of Trustees," said Reed Jones, chairman of the Student Government Association's Heritage Life Committee, according to the Macon Telegraph.
You don’t have to be a Mercer student to attend the University 17 Founders’ Day address. The event is open to the public.
