In an interview with SiriusXM Canada Laugh’s program, “The Todd Shapiro Show,” shortly before his death, singer Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots fame did not sound well.
Perhaps it was the energy and the softball question thrown at him by the afternoon drive-time host, or perhaps Weiland was ill. On Wednesday night during a tour stop in Bloomington, Indiana,Weiland was found dead in his sleep, of what many have already begun to whisper may have been a drug overdose.
On the SIRIUSXM program, Weiland clearly isn’t enjoying his obligated radio interview, something that Shapiro picks up upon and inquires about.
“I think of it like it’s a necessary evil,” Weiland says.
For whatever reason, many of Weiland’s responses are one-word quips, a far cry from some previous interviews where he opens up about his love of music, and his demons with drug addiction.
As the awkward struggle of an interview barrels on, Shapiro begins asking Weiland about some current events.
“That’d be a nightmare,” Weiland says of presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Days later, Weiland would pass away, leaving millions of music fans with a massive void to fill, after years of dominating their music listening.
