Midtown motorists will need to avoid the area of the Fox Theatre on Thursday, where Peachtree Street is shut down for taping of a music awards show.

The BET Soul Train Awards will be taped at the theater at 7 p.m. Thursday, according to theater's website.

Peachtree Street was closed in both directions between Ponce de Leon Avenue and 3rd Street Wednesday night, and will remain closed through Friday morning.

Ponce de Leon Avenue from Peachtree to West Peachtree is partially blocked and will be completely blocked at times.

The traffic advisory posted on the theater's website also says there will be delays on West Peachtree and 3rd Street between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Thursday for the "red carpet" event.

The Soul Train Awards, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, will air on BET at 9 p.m. on Nov. 27.
