A Memphis rapper was jailed after being arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Adolph Thornton, also known as hip hop star Young Dolph, was charged with possession of marijuana and violation of vehicle registration.

Police told MyFoxMemphis Thornton was stopped around 2:45 p.m. when an officer noticed a 2015 silver Rolls Royce driving on Airways without any tag information. While approaching the vehicle, officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana.

When police checked Thornton’s information, they learned he had an active warrant out of Birmingham, Alabama. While the 30-year-old was being detained, the officer noticed what appeared to be marijuana and seeds on the driver’s side floorboard of the vehicle.

Police said the officer also found a small, clear bag filled with what appeared to be marijuana in Thornton’s left sock.

Adolph Thornton’s bond was set at $100 and he is set to appear before a judge Wednesday morning.

MyFoxMemphis also learned Thornton was found guilty on two previous drug-related charges in 2013 and 2014.
