Country music superstar Kenny Chesney's father Dave has been charged with beating his neighbor with his fists and a golf club, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.
Police said the incident was reported this week outside the elder Chesney's condominium.
Jonathan Jones, president of the neighborhood's homeowners' association, confronted Chesney for allowing his dog to roam without a leash on the grounds of the Woodlake Lodge, Golf & Country Club, police said.
Chesney is accused of responding to the confrontation with a golf club, swinging at Jones at least eight times, hitting him six times, Claiborne County Sheriff's Deputy Wayne Lee told the News Sentinel.
Chesney also faces charges of vandalism under $500, as well as aggravated assault.
