Just months after releasing his first album with side project The Arcs, Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach lent his voice to a new song inspired by the mega-hit Netflix docuseries “Making a Murderer.”

“Your alibi will never do when the whole town's got it out for you,” Auerbach sings.

The Arcs released the song “Lake Superior” Friday. An image for the single featured the mug shot of Steven Avery, the 53-year-old Wisconsin man whose conviction for the 2005 murder of photographer Teresa Halbach stands at the center of the Netflix series.

"Last week, we got a sneak peek at what goes on behind the curtains of our criminal justice system," the band wrote on its Facebook page. "A few sleepless nights later we gathered in the studio and wrote this song."

The band wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered the song in two days.

The groovy track is available for download on iTunes. All proceeds from the song will go to the Innocence Project, a non-profit aimed at exonerating wrongly convicted people.
