Kevin Hart reportedly recovering from successful back surgery after accident
Actor Kevin Hart underwent surgery on his back following a serious car accident early Sunday.
Hart's wife, Eniko Hart, told TMZ the actor and comedian is awake and is "going to be just fine."
The actor was injured in the crash of his muscle car in the hills above Malibu, according to the Associated Press.
A California Highway Patrol collision report says the 40-year-old Hart was a passenger in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that went off Mulholland Highway and rolled down an embankment around 12:45 a.m. Sunday.
The report says Hart and the driver, 28-year-old Jared Black, both suffered "major back injuries" and were taken to hospitals, AP reported. Black’s fiancée, celebrity trainer Rebecca Broxterman, was also in the car but suffered only minor injuries.
A TMZ source said Hart is expected to remain in the hospital “at least a couple of days while he recovers.”
