In some circles, it's inappropriate to share how much money you make, but for late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, that doesn't seem to be the case.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" host was on KROQ's The Kevin & Bean Show Wednesday and said he was being paid $15,000 to host the Oscars in February.

While some may have waited until after hosting to share their pay rate, Kimmell didn't seem mind being honest.

He even conceded that the figure seems a little low.

"You know why? I think it's illegal to pay nothing," he said.

"That's what they told me," he said. "I'm not sure I was supposed to reveal this, but nobody told me not to. I consider this their fault."

Hopefully, the admission won't jeopardize Kimmel's gig. He hosted the Emmys in September.

The 89th Annual Academy Awards air Feb. 26.
