Scientists have a big name for this big fish, but we know him better as "Jaws." Made (in)famous in book and film, Carcharodon carcharias is starring now at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. "Great White Shark," a 2013 movie detailing the life of this predator, is showing through Sept. 26.

It’s also showing just as the Discovery Channel is about to unveil the 27th annual edition of Shark Week. That homage to sharks bows Sunday at 8 p.m.

Just how awesome is the great white shark? They reach 20 feet in length and easily top two tons. They have hundreds of teeth. They eat … well, just about anything they want.
