Free Yoga in Piedmont Park: 5 things to do this week in Atlanta

For a short work week, last week was understandably stressful for many Americans.

Celebrate the start of a new week by planning fun and relaxing things to do over the next few days.

Whether you’re planning to attend a rock concert or a free exercise class, you’re sure to have plenty of opportunities to enjoy yourself.

Here are our top picks for things to do this week:

Free Yoga in Piedmont Park

Westside Yoga hosts a free yoga class in Piedmont Park at Park Tavern once a month.

This month’s session will take place at 7 p.m. on July 11.

Berry said her goal for the session is to make yoga accessible to everyone. She says between 60 to 120 people show up to each session.

Go to the beach

Whether you’re a parent looking to keep your kids entertained this summer, someone who is in need of a solo trip, or a person who wants to get away with their closest friends or significant other, taking a road trip is a fun, inexpensive way to leave your day-to-day troubles behind.

Instead of heading to Hilton Head for your getaway, try something new. Visit a new beach with the help of our list of "10 often-overlooked beaches near Atlanta." All of our suggestions are between five to seven hours by car.

Brand New & Modest Mouse

Rock bands Modest Mouse and Brand New have been touring together this summer, with both bands performing full sets each night. Brand New will close during the show at Chastain Park Amphitheatre on July 10 at 7 p.m.

Modest Mouse performed at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre last year.

If You Go: 7 p.m. July 10. $35.99-$55.99. Chastain Park Amphitheatre, 4469 Stella Drive, Atlanta.

Visit the Children’s Museum of Atlanta

The Children’s Museum of Atlanta celebrates the second Tuesday of every month in a fun way.

On the second Tuesday of this month, children and their guardians get to experience the museum for free between the hours of 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. under the Target Free Second Tuesday program.

Boyz II Men

It’s a great month to be a fan of R&B music in Atlanta. Aside from the Wolf Creek concert series, Boyz II Men will perform at Chastain Park Amphitheatre on July 14. The popular Philadelphia group, which recently appeared in Fox’s “Grease Live,” will remind Atlanta fans why their 1990s hits are still relevant today.

If You Go: 8 p.m. July 14. $35-$55. Chastain Park Amphitheatre, 4469 Stella Drive, Atlanta.
