Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only daughter of singer Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, remains hospitalized in dire condition as the family requests prayer and privacy. A statement from the Houston family on Monday said the 21-year-old is “fighting for her life.”

Brown was rushed to North Fulton Hospital about 10:25 a.m. Saturday after being found face-down in a bathtub by her husband, Nick Gordon. The Roswell Police Department incident report released Monday shows the emergency call was reported as a drowning.

Roswell police spokesman Lisa Holland said investigators who searched the home didn’t find drugs out in the open or a sign of a struggle, and don’t know what led to Brown ending up in such straits. Holland said during a news conference that Brown was “alive and breathing,” but neither she nor the hospital has been unable to provide condition updates, citing medical privacy laws.

Over the past few days, family members have been gathering at the hospital.

In a statement issued through his attorney, Bobby Brown confirmed his daughter had been hospitalized but didn’t say much else: “The report that Bobbi Kristina Brown has been taken to the hospital in Atlanta, Ga., is accurate. No additional information will be forthcoming. Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.”

The Houston family’s statement echoed the request for privacy: “We are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”

Houston died at age 48 in February 2012 after being found unresponsive in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills, Calif., hotel room. The official cause of her death was drowning and the effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use, the Los Angeles coroner’s office concluded.
