If your children have nudged you to take them to Medieval Times, here's a little incentive. Shows at the 11th-century castle are free for children ages 12 and under for the next six weeks.

That saves parents the general admission fee of $35.95 Friday through July 6. Each child must be accompanied by a paying adult. Adult admission is $47.95.

It's the second time for a "kids free" promotion at the Lawrenceville castle this year.

"Many people are staying closer to home this summer and looking for fun things to do," says general manager Jonathan Rico. "We're hoping they come to see us."

The nationwide gesture is in celebration of Medieval Times' 25th anniversary. Made to resemble the Middle Ages, the first of nine castles opened in Kissimmee, Fla., in 1983. The Georgia castle at Discover Mills opened in 2006.

Guests are treted to a four-course dinner where they can eat with their fingers and are greeted as "My Lord" and "My Lady." During the feast, a king and princess sit on a dias high above the arena action while knights compete in a javelin toss and games of skill.

The castle has added shows this weekend. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Friday, 5 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday.

Medieval Times is at Discover Mills, 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville. Visit www.medievaltimes.com for regular showtimes or call 888-935-6878.
