Spend a summer evening preparing for an early morning on a trout stream at a fly fishing clinic at Panola Mountain State Park in Stockbridge. The 90-minute class covers knot tying, casting and other basics of fly-fishing. Participants must have a Georgia fishing license. The cost is $10, plus the $3 parking fee. Drag your Imperial Stormtrooper togs out of mothballs and march to Decatur for a "Star Wars" costume contest at Wordsmiths Books. Fans of all ages are invited to appear as their favorite character (or, alternatively, as Jar-Jar Binks), and "fantastic prizes" are promised. The event coincides with a visit by science fiction author Karen Traviss, whose latest novel is a romp in George Lucas' playpen titled "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." 7:30 p.m. tonight. Half of Wham coming to town. George Michael — 25 Live Tour. English singer-songwriter who has had a career as half of the duo Wham and also as a soul-influenced pop musician. Instead of fighting the morning traffic crunch, stroll through the Acworth Farmers Market. The morning market brings up to a dozen vendors to this small town in northwest Cobb County. Fresh fruits, vegetable and bedding plants are for sale from 7 a.m. to about 11 a.m. Bring some fresh corn to the office and the boss won't mind that you're a bit late.
