The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has revealed the cause of death for “The Goldbergs” and “Modern Family” actor Jackson Odell.
The specific cause is listed as “acute heroin and cocaine toxicity.” The manner of death is listed as accidental.
Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations at the County of Los Angeles Department of Coroner, told USA Today Odell “had a history of heroin addiction.”
Odell, who had parts in movies and was also singer and songwriter, died less than a month before his 21st birthday. At the time of his death, his family released a statement saying, “The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell, on Friday. He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. He had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward. Our wish is that the rest of the world who knew and loved him does as well.”
