Schools let out and amusement and water parks crank up -- that makes it "summer" in the South well before the calendar makes it official.

So as Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water begin opening daily on Saturday, many metro denizens will be scrambling for water bottles, sunscreen and, maybe for the roller-coaster bound, motion-sickness meds.

Six Flags Over Georgia has no major ride introductions this season, holding off for its 50th anniversary (yep, 50) in 2011. But White Water will be making a splash with the Wiggles Water World, a 40,000-square-foot attraction featuring the 25-foot-tall play ship the S.S. Feathersword among five interactive sections.

Debuting in the coming week (exact day to be announced), it's the first Wiggles-themed water attraction in North America. Of course, there's Wiggles wet and wildness in Australia, home to the internationally popular kid's music group.

Meanwhile, Six Flags Over Georgia gets the party started with concerts by Christian artist Jeremy Camp on Saturday and the Bamboozle Roadshow Festival -- a New Jersey export featuring Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, Hanson and Good Charlotte -- on Sunday.
