If you attended Music Midtown, you’re probably looking for a break from entertainment events this week.
But, for Atlanta residents who aren’t exhausted from the two-day music festival in Piedmont Park, here’s our weekly list of things to do this week around metro Atlanta:
“Ugly Lies the Bone”
An injured young veteran returns home to face her new reality with the help of a new virtual reality therapy in “Ugly Lies the Bone.” The production, created by playwright Lindsey Ferrentino, opened at the Alliance Theatre on Sept. 16.

Colson Whitehead’s “The Underground Railroad”
Colson Whitehead, author of the 2016 novel “The Underground Railroad,” will participate in a reading and book signing with readers at the Carter Center’s Cecil B. Day Chapel.
Tickets are $29 and include admission and a signed copy of the book.

Atlanta Celebrates the Tour Championship
Celebrate the top 30 players before the Tour Championship returns to Atlanta this week.
Atlanta musician CeeLo will perform at the College Football Hall of Fame for the event. Tickets are $15 and include one free drink and hors d’oeuvres.

It’s been 42 years since the inaugural festival combined Greek cuisine and live entertainment in a festival setting.
You can enjoy live music from headliners Alpha-Omega Sound and dance shows by local artists, or visit the drive-through on your lunch break to grab a gyro sandwich, or a chicken lathorigano plate — the latter comprised of broiled chicken basted with a marinade of oil, lemon and oregano, rice pilaf, green beans, spanakopita and a roll.
The drive-through is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sept. 22-24 and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 25.
When an Indiana school cancels prom so that a student can’t attend with her girlfriend, a group of Broadway actors attempt to get involved.
