Designer Vern Yip, known for projects including TLC's "Trading Spaces," and "HGTV Design Star," will serve as the honorary chair of the 2015 Decorators' Show House & Gardens, organized by the Atlanta Symphony Associates. The event, from April 18 to May 10, will benefit the orchestra's youth education and community outreach initiatives.

He will be recognized at the preview gala, planned for April 17, and will design a room in the Show House.

"Vern's career and passion for the orchestra and its musicians are truly inspiring," said Camille Kesler, who serves as president of the Symphony Associates and is chairing this year's Show House. "We could not be more excited."

This year's featured home is "Château Soleil," a French-style estate in Buckhead designed by William T. Baker.

“The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is one of the most vital cultural entities that help make Atlanta a true world-class city,” Yip said. “Raising my young family in Atlanta, it is important to me to do whatever I can to help sustain this incredible organization and the talented musicians who enrich all of our lives through their artistry. I hope that we can all come together to help support the ASO and the local art community.”

Efron, De Niro are filming in Atlanta

Zac Efron and Robert De Niro are in Atlanta working on a movie also starring Aubrey Plaza, Julianne Hough, Zoey Deutch, Dermot Mulroney and Atlanta's own Catherine Dyer.

The project was tentatively titled “Dirty Grandpa” although more recent casting calls now refer to it as an “untitled” project. It’s common for a movie to change names from filming to release date. Maybe they can come up with something a little less cringe-inducing.

Here’s the plot, per imdb.com: “Right before his wedding, an uptight guy is tricked into driving his grandfather, a perverted former Army general, to Florida for spring break.”

(Is that early 2016 Oscar buzz we hear?)

The movie has been filming at locations including the Delkwood Grill in Cobb County.

We’re told Mulroney dined at the Spence recently with a group of about 10 cast and crew members. They delighted in numerous house specialties including pastas, short ribs and whole grilled fish.
