Atlanta-based Cox Media Group has named WSB-TV Station Manager Marian Pittman as CMG’s vice president of news and marketing for television. In the new role, Pittman will also oversee the company’s Washington news bureau.

Pittman was named to the then-newly created position of Channel 2 station manager in January 2012. Previously, the 25-year TV veteran had been news director for Channel 2 Action News since 2006.

She will report to Jane Williams, who was named CMG executive vice president of television on Wednesday. Williams oversees CMG’s television markets. She will manage syndicated programming for its stations and represent the stations to the industry, the company said.

CMG also named Kim Guthrie as executive vice president for radio. Guthrie oversees CMG’s radio markets.

CMG, part of Cox Enterprises, is a broadcasting, publishing, direct marketing and digital media company. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is one of CMG’s daily newspapers.
